Master5 CNC Control for Windows
Master5 is a program that breaks the paradigm that Windows cannot do CNC.
While previous Windows programs have relied on delay loops to control the
pulse stream, Master5 uses a custom VXD to reprogram the motherboard timer
and adds to that some algorithmical tricks to ensure pulse timing continuity
not seen previously in Windows.
Master5 is based on the EMC 6-axis kernal and so, understands the
NIST274G standard G-Code dictionary. It also uses the theory of the EMC
Trajectory tracking mechanism to create a constant velocity movement free
from those annoying glitches, jerks and frequent stops associated with poor
toolpath tracking.
The software is also capable of optional Line Blending which starts an
axis movement as a previous movement ramps down, creating a faster smoother
transition between line segments. This mode is faster and allows for a
reduction of cutting time in complex roughing programs. Its lookahead is the
entire program as the entire cutting program is translated as it loads.
OpenGL 3d graphics of the toolpath which can be rotated and zoomed or panned
complete the visuals of the package. Windows Real-Time control has never
been as inexpensive. And being a windows program, you can even surf the net
while you cut.
Computer Requirements:
586, 300Mhz or better, 128Meg Ram, Windows 98,95,ME.
Some older Motherboards have a problem with Master5's reprogramming of the
timer subsystem and will not run Master5, so it's best to run the full
featured demo available on the website. Almost all newer systems ( since
2000 ) have no problem with Master5, so if you have the power and wish the
ease of use and features of Windows in your CNC setup, Master5 may be for
you.
Limitations:
Master5 has a top speed of 8192 Pulses per second as a function of the
Motherboard timing system.
Features:
ToolTable, home switches, Radius Compensation, Material speed table,
Emergency Stop, MaxNC wave drive as well as Step/Dir drive. Keyboard jog
which is as smooth as it gets, Joystick control of movement as well as main
program functions. Auto Repeat with offset for each repeat, Auto Power Off ,
G-Code, HPGL, JPEG and BMP engraving , DXF ,G-Code export from any input,
single line execution and many others.
Master5 is the least expensive solution to CNC Real-Time Control. It is
presently being used around the world and has been released under different
names as OEM solutions to industrial control. The software was released on
Jan. 15th 2001 and is constantly under development with an NT version with
higher pulse rates in the works. Registration is $100.00 and includes a
lifetime upgrade policy to all future releases at no charge.
